FAQ

1. What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire. Even though Italians are very fashionable and known for their attention to dress, please feel free to dress as you are comfortable. Think smart clothing, like a suit of any color or dress shirt and tie or nice cocktail dresses or pantsuits. For shoes, consider that the reception will be outdoors with a grassy area as well as an open "indoors" courtyard for dinner. We do not recommend stilettos for ladies.

2. What will the weather be like this time of year?

End of July and August will be very hot and humid in Rome. Lighter colors and fabrics would be more comfortable. Don't forget your sunscreen!

3. Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony will be at the church "Chiesa di Sant'Anselmo All'Aventino" (address: Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta 5). The reception will be at the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Romani (address: Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta 2). It's a 5 min walk from the church to the reception venue.

4. What happens after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, the wedding couple will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception venue, where we will be serving finger foods and beverages during a welcome aperitif/cocktail hour with a view over Rome, followed by dinner and dancing.

5. How do I get to the wedding venue?

The wedding will take place in Aventino (the Aventine Hill) near the Orange Garden (Giardino degli Aranci) or the "keyhole" sight. With the heat in July, we recommend taking a short taxi ride or an Uber ride to Aventino. Taxi numbers are 06-3570 or 06-6565 or Taxi Roma Samarcanda 06-5551. Public transportation can be tricky. The closest metro station is 'Piramide' in Testaccio or 'Circo Massimo', but then it's a 10-15 min walk up the hill.

6. What time should I arrive at the Church?

Any time after 3:30pm and before 4:00pm (to allow ample time for everyone to be seated before the ceremony begins at 4:15pm). The church provides a cool break ;-) There's also a little monk shop outside the church to spend some time.

7. Where should guests park? Is parking free?

If coming with your own car, the only parking available is street parking which is limited in Aventino. It is free of charge on Sunday until Monday morning. Do not leave any valuables in your car as there is often theft. The best street parking options are: Clivo dei Publici (coming up from Circo Massimo). Piazza di Santa Prisca.

8. Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, please respect our wish for an adult-only wedding. We can only accommodate children of immediate family and breastfeeding babies. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us.

9. Can I bring a plus one?

We have a guest list. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. Please contact us if you have any doubts or concerns.

10. How and by when do I need to RSVP?

Kindly respond if you can be there by MAY 15. You can RSVP via the following ways: Online on the "RSVP" tab on this Website. Phone/Text/WhatsApp: +39 339-323-1136. Email: alessiaerik.roma2025@gmail.com

11. Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

We did not reserve any hotel room blocks. If you want to stay close to the wedding venue, we recommend the Hotel Anselmo (Piazza di Sant'Anselmo 2 https://www.aventinohotels.com/) which has 3 properties in the area. The pricing is approx. 220€ (single) to 250€ (double) per night. For a list of other hotel options, please refer to the list on the "Travel" tab on this Website. Any hotel or Airbnb accommodation nearby Aventino will be only a short taxi ride away. We recommend the following neighborhoods to look for accommodations: Tastevere, Testaccio and of course the Centro Storico closer to Circo Massimo. We advise to book your accommodation as soon as possible due to the 2025 Jubilee / Holy Year which will bring many more pilgrims into Rome than usually.

12. Will there be food and drinks during the aperitif/cocktail hour?

After the wedding ceremony, we will be serving different kind of appetizers and drinks. We invite you to toast to our nuptials with a curated selection of wine, beer and cocktails.

13. Will dinner be served at the reception? What kind of food?

There will be of course delicious Italian food served for dinner around 20:30 - 21:00 :)

14. What if I have a dietary requirement?

There will be options to cater for all different diets. If you have any concerns, please message us with your restrictions, allergies, or concerns jointly with your RSVP.

15. Do you have a gift registry?

We are so thankful you will be joining us for this celebration of our love. We do not have a list of gifts as our household is complete and filled with love. However, if you would like to honor us with a monetary gift, it would help as a contribution towards our honeymoon and setting up our new life in Rome, Italy together. For further information, please contact us.

16. Will transportation be provided?

The church and reception venue are walking distance (less than 300 meters). As our guests are spread around Rome, there have been no arrangements made for transportation. Guests will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the wedding.

17. What time should I go home?

Due to limitations of the venue, we will need to end the party shortly after midnight. You can pre-book Ubers or taxis accordingly.

18. Do you have a wedding hashtag?

TBD

19. I still have questions. What is the best way to contact you?
